Tele Tone

Rocker in San Francisco plays unique blend of punk rock, jazz and samba. Sadly, I've forgotten the name of the band.

My electric guitar skills are fading, since I nearly always play my acoustic instead. I think the acoustic is a lot more forgiving than electric. When you're plugged into an amplifier, no mistake goes unheard. You constantly have to fight the instrument to make it sing above the noise of your own technique -- pick scratches, pitch inaccuracy, dynamic inconsistency. Even when just hitting a single note you must be careful that your pick attack doesn't kill the tone.

I should be practicing.
